Upcoming anime film Fruits Basket -prelude- has released its main trailer!

As well as previewing the youthful days of Tohru’s parents, Kyoko and Katsuya, the trailer features the theme song, “Niji to Kite” by Trio Ohashi.

Beginning with Natsuki Takaya’s manga series, the Fruits Basket franchise follows high school girl Tohru Honda, who moves in with a classmate after her mother is killed in a car accident – only to discover that his family is the subject of a curse where they are each possessed by spirits of the Chinese zodiac.

Fruits Basket -prelude- is a compilation movie that will combine the TV anime aired from 2019 to 2021 with additional prequel material.

Fruits Basket -prelude- will open in Japanese theaters on February 18, 2022. A Blu-ray version will also be available for purchase exclusively at theaters screening the film.
